5. Reviseup for Schools — Additional Terms

The following additional terms apply to schools, teachers, and administrators using Reviseup for Schools:

5.1 School Responsibilities

The school ("Subscribing Institution") is responsible for:

  • Managing school administrator, teacher, and student accounts within the school dashboard

  • Complying with all applicable child protection and safeguarding legislation
  • Maintaining the accuracy of student and staff data entered into the Service
  • Ensuring teachers and staff use the Service in accordance with these Terms

5.2 Data Processing for Schools

When a school subscribes to Reviseup for Schools, the school acts as the data controller for student personal data, and Reviseup acts as the data processor. We process student data solely on the school's instructions and for the purposes of providing the Service.

Schools may request a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) by contacting us at schools@reviseup.co.uk. Our standard DPA covers the requirements of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

5.3 Teacher and Administrator Accounts

Teachers and administrators are granted access by the school. They may create assignments, view student progress, manage classes, and perform other administrative functions as enabled by their role. Teachers must not share their account credentials and must use the Service only for legitimate educational purposes.

5.4 Student Accounts Under School Plans

Students who access the Service through a school plan may have their progress visible to their assigned teachers and school administrators. Students should be informed by their school that revision activity, topic completion, and progress data may be viewed by authorised staff.

5.5 School Subscription Termination

When a school subscription ends, all school-managed data (including student trackers created through assignments, class records, and teacher accounts) will be retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted. Students who also have personal subscriptions retain their personal data separately.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data according to the following policy:

  • Active Subscription: Your data is retained for as long as your subscription is active
  • Grace Period: After your subscription ends, your data is retained in read-only mode for 90 days
  • Deletion: After the 90-day grace period, all your data is permanently deleted

During the grace period, you can view your data but cannot make changes. If you resubscribe during this period, your data will be restored to full access. You may request earlier deletion of your data by contacting us.
